Default SC belt wear

Anyone with the smaller SC pulleys having abnormal belt wear?? I just put on gator back belts 6 weeks ago and the SC belt is toast. Black powder all over the front of the engine around the SC... What gives??

That'* normal for the first few weeks of wear on a gatorback. Mine did the same thing, doesn't any more. It'* even more obvious with a clear anodozed pulley.

Sal, that engine bay is looking nice.

I actually had a belt that was 1/2" shorter to compensate for the smaller diameter pulley. I think that the takeup idler pulley might be sticking and pulling hard into the slack side of the belt and not releasinfg. This might be causing the belt to run too tight and hense the wear problem.....
I going to remove the take up pulley and clean and lube it up... will keep you guys posted..

Steve, you may want to seriously consider the ZZP oversized idler. It'll give you more diameter belt wrap around the SC pulley.
