Default opinions on future pulley choice(UPDATED).....

hey yall, I wanna change my poolie(and get a FWI) when i change my plugs. i just got the funding to do this. i still am trying to decide if I wanna put on a "press-on" pulley from SLP or an MPS pulley. first, if i get an mps, could i get by with a 3.4 with just an fwi, colder plugs(tr55 or tr6 even) and a 180 deg. thermostat? If not, ill just put on a 3.5 for now. I was wanting to know if I got the MPS, what would I have to do to put on a smaller pulley(3.4 or 3.3")? the answer to that question will determine if i get a regular pulley or a changeable one. I dont wanna go overboard with this car, needs to be a DD and pass emissions, etc.
thanks

The pulley won't affect emissions.

If you plan to mod, get the MPS from INTENSE or ZZP.

If you don't have a scantool, get the 3.5".

If you have a scantool and get the 3.4", you better have the budget to buy a 3.5" or mods to make it run free of KR. Just in case. Some cars do, some cars don't.

SCAN IN HOT, HUMID WEATHER.

Let'* not kid outselves like I did. Head straight to the MPS. An Aeroforce scan gauge is an awesome partner to any mod like the pulley unless you have a scan tool. (heck..even then).

I did things like you are talking about. Did a press on pulley..then an MPS, ported exhaust manifolds..then headers. Save yourself some money.. do it right the first time.

My DD is cammed with a 3.4 on a Gen V M90 (equiavlent to a 3.2 on your charger) with headers, a N* TB and FWI etc etc. It passes emissions.

honestly if you are looking to go 3.3 or smaller I would consider a tuner if I were you. I will be runningn the 3.5 mps when it gets here

update: poolie went on today. with the fwi, this thing is pretty whiney now. i like the result, but i thought it would have had more bottom end power. i guess i should have listened to boosty and do some exaust mods. the guys at the supercharger shop said i should have gotten a smaller belt. all the L67 peeps i talked to before said that with a 3.5", you can use the same belt. a guy at work(who has a couple blown cars) said i could keep the same belt, but said it could wear out the spring in my tensioner because it is more fully extended. any opinions?
