Default Noise in supercharge (not at Idle)....

ok i was about to change the bearings in my front passenger wheel thinking that was where my grinding came from. But yesterday a mechanic told me that the bearings in the wheel were fine and that the noise was coming from my SC. So i started paying attention to the boost gauge. Everytime it reaches the third line (-5boost mark??) i get a loud grind. but if i keep accelerating it goes away. It doesnt grind when im in idle so i was thinkin that it might not be the coupler. (or could it??) Could it be the bearings? The mechanic told me that the SC is about to die and that there no hope. :( Its there any test that i can do? I didnt get a chance yet to take off the belts and test the sc pulley. I'll do that this weekend. But any other info or help would be well appreciated.

Thanks

That might be the bearings in the snout, but I'm not sure. I'd think it would be a constant sound that changed with engine speed, but never went away.

I wouldn't go any further with the repair shop until you take off the belt and check the pulley like you said above.
