You are incorrect. All of our L67'* will run without a SC. But on the Series 1 (not the car in question) the water pump shares the same belt.

I can just swear it is coming from the fenderwell where I put in the cold air intake, it also got a little louder after I put the intake in. So I'm stumped but it goes away after a minute or two so I guess it'* not too bad.
As expected, your car idled fine. Which is why I told you to start it with no SC belt.

If the noise only happens in the first few seconds of a cold start, I bet the noise is coming from air passing through the IAC passage as the idle settles in. If it got louder from the intake, and the noise isn't changed when the SC isn't spinning, this is normal noise at startup. Think of it as a modern choke.

Does it go away during warmup if you tap the throttle for the RPM'* to drop?

Regardless, the car WILL run just fine without the pulley. The S2 indefinitely, the S1 for less than 5 minutes before overheating. It'* important that people understand they CAN do this. It'* a valuable troubleshooting step as you can see.

As WillWren says..an invaluable tool. Only words of caution are that if you are a series 1 owner you start with a cold car and keep in mind that your water pump is inoperable w/o the belt on.

S2 can actually drive w/o a belt if necessary.
