Default Need some tips on cleaning SC.got the LIM off 05/09

The first question is what hose goes into the top of this boost thing? The boost actuator plugs into the bottom but nothing was connected to the top. :?

Also how does the lower intake look with 116k miles?

where could have all this sludge come from around the openings of the injectors?

And what could I use to clean up the SC a little? From what I read on I see that the turbines shouldnt be cleaned so what should I do/use to clean this up a little?

Scrape the gasket.. a razor blade or gasket scraper. Try not to scratch the surface bad and make an area that wouldn't seal. (no deep grooves).

Don't clean the SC or the housing internally. You will end up cleaning the grease out of the case bearings and need to redo them.

I hope to god you're pulling that LIM to replace the gaskets, and ditching the DEX.

Nothing connects to the top of the BCS. It'* merely a vent.

As for the sludge on the edges of your injectors. Nothing against you. But your entire motor is covered in sludge. I'd say it'* normal road dirt that hasn't been cleaned in 116K miles.

I will be replacing the LIM gaskets. I bought this car three months ago and this is the shape it was given to me.

It'* cool to see you doing the work yourself. You know about the aluminum framed lower gaskets, right?

Yes I will be getting the updated gaskets.. Check out these pics I took. Do this look good for a 116k car running Dex, and could this sludge build up be the reason for the kind of high temps on a 80* day? I do have a 180* stat but its not a intense one everyone is talking about.
