On GM Eaton M90'* Gen 3'* were the only superchargers used. Ford used Eaton Gen1 M90'* and Eaton Gen3 M90'* throughout the T-Bird years. The only difference from '96-'97 and '98 to actually '03 (not '00) GM Eaton Gen3 M90'* is an extra vac port.

News to me if it is true... I don't know why GM would do something like put a Gen1 M90 on a '96 when in '95 the had a Gen3 M62. Eaton prob. stopped making Gen1'* once the Gen3'* came out. So if by '94 their was Gen3 M62 their was Gen3 M90'*.

Just like how GM uses all Gen5'* now, the Gen3'* are not made.

Maybe my experience was a rare exception, but...the supercharger on my '92 SSE was a completely rebuilt unit from Magnuson. The nose oil seal began leaking at roughly 20,000 miles (that'* when I first noticed it), after the warranty had expired. I replaced the seal myself, and when I removed the pulley, I discovered that the seal was leaking because the inside edge of the pulley was rubbing against the outside surface of the seal, and had chewed-up the seal over time. They had either pressed the pulley too far onto the shaft, or pressed the shaft too far into the snout. When I reinstalled the pulley, I didn't press it on quite as far as it was before.
This supercharger has a bar code sticker on it, and the numbers begin with "AS".

92 and 93 used the Gen2. 94-current L67'* use either the Gen3 '62 or the Gen3 '90.
