The 180* t-stat will not regulate engine temperature at 180*, it merely opens at 180* to allow coolant flow through the rad. I don't do alot of wots, but 5.5 psi of boost sounds about right.

at the top of the rpm you should see about 7-8.5lbs of boost...

Because you're getting 5.5 psi at red line doesn't necessarily indicate a problem with your supercharger. You can't rely 100% on the inst. cluster boost gage to diagnose a problem because of the lower accuracy of the gage. An independent calibrated mechanical gage with a higher standard of accuracy would be in order. Outside of the 5.5 boost, how does the car run? What is the mpg?

Check the tension marks on the SC belt tensioner. There is a scal on the inner (black) piece. It has a series of 3 lines very close together. Is the arrow cast into the body pointing on or near these lines?

At idle, disconnect the top vacuum line from the Boost Control Actuator. Does the bypass valve travel fully from the vertical position to the horizontal? Do this a few times. Full travel both directions?

the boost act. valve. seems to have full movement when I dic. the top vac. hose.

the belt ten. has three marks close together (1/8 of a inch apart) and a fourth mark about 1/4 of an inch from the last close mark. the arrow on the tensioner is in the middle of the quarter inch gap. like this >> | | | |. mark is in the midde of the wider gap.

My MPG is around 20-21 avg. Not many highway miles and driving pretty smooth, no hard accelerations etc. is this about normal? thnks again
