Gameover isn't the best of examples to prove the point. He has some other mods that haven't fully been vetted out and tuned in completely.

Let'* use my 97SSEi as an example. I used a gutted airbox with K&N filter. Cut the radiator support to match the box opening and sealed it up with some weather strip foam. Added a high flow cat, ported exhaust manifolds and a 3.4 pulley. KR was very minimal in the summer at full operating temps and high humidity.

Many things factor in.. including altitude, humidity etc etc. While the supporting mods do wonders for helping out, everything needs to be considered.

Let'* not forget:

In order to get 'KR', the knock has already been sensed, and timing pulled to prevent it. The KNOCK HAS ALREADY HAPPENED multiple times. And it does damage your eingine over time.

You see I will be stopping at the ported exhaust manifold and highflow cats but I will be using a 3.5 pulley with 1 step colder plugs with a modified intake (maybe CAI or FWI) and 180 deg T-stat. Now if you have all of that and your KR is "minimal" then I know they way im heading would be knocking like crazy. Now how is the humidity in CT because you are located by the ocean vs me by a big lake in Chicago?
