What do I use to remove the SC oil fill plug on the snout. It looks like it is just circular in shape? I am a little confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bryan

Looks like someone stripped the hex plug.

Use a hammer and a centerpunch. Punch in a few strokes to get a divot. Then tip the punch so it removes the plug with each strike. You'll need a new plug when you're done (dealer).

I have pics of this procedure around somewhere. Either harofreak'* or chadow427'* was stripped when I got it here.

Mine was the same way.

Never thought of the center punch idea. I used a dremel to cut a groove in the top of the plug. I just plunged the rotary grinding wheel into the center of the plug, using the existing hole as my 'centering'. (That way I never got close to the SC casting)

After a nice groove was left, a big 'A' flat bladed screwdriver spun it right out.

Whatever you choose as your method, don't drill through the plug to use an easy out unless you're willing to remove the nosedrive and flush it out afterwards.

I should have suggested that. I have a 3/8" drive allen wrench one size too large that I ground a taper on for that very purpose.
