Help. Supercharger is broken

MY supercharger is makingloud grinding and scraping noises and they are comming from the cone i believe. Do i need to go by a new $450 supercharger or what? I am totally clueless, or is this an easy fix. MY 93 ssei has arounf 160xxx miles on it. This noiue happens when i am just sitting with the car running, and when i turn off the car, it makes a quick squeaking noise.

Sounds like the bearings in the snout, to me. And possibly the coupler. DO NOT BUY A REBUILT UNIT FROM 13ourlucky13 ON EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! That guy is bad news.

Do not buy an eBay supercharger AT ALL without checking with us first.
You can also get the snout (nosedrive) by itself from www.canadiansupercharger.com good rebuilds, good prices. Make sure you replace your coupler at the same time.

SO what is the cheapest way to go. I mean i dont want to buy a whole new nose cone if i dont have to!!!
Will just bearing and a coupler (SP?) fix this probelm, and is it alot of work? Or is jsut getting a new nose cone the best and easiest way to go.

It'* not worth the time or effort to change bearings in the nosedrive from Willwrens experience.
If the bearings in the nose are shot, then pick up a fresh one and the coupler (sc oil too)..you'll be back to normal in no time.

It'* VERY much worth the time, money and effort. It was for me, anyway, and I'm about to do another. Another pair, actually, so I have a rebuilt full spare.
Do you have bearing/gear pullers? Do you have access to a press? You'll need those tools to do it.

Right. Don't mess with the intermediate rotor seals and bearings behind the gears. VERY difficult, nearly impossible to get realigned without factory jigs and fixtures.
The rotor needle bearings in the case are relatively easy, and the Nosedrive is somewhat more complicated, and you need specialized tools.

Well, I thought we'd kinda diagnosed the BEARINGS? If it has oil, and you can stand the noise, sure. Drive it. But if it gets worse, pull over. If you sieze a bearing, you can do alot more costly damage to the SC, rendering it unrepairable.
