i see where the hoses are but if i wasnt such a numby i would understand were they go i really wanna try this but i dont know what to do. can anyone explain this process in newbie terms please

Maybe because you are getting 0 KR.
That would make since if it were the case. It is seeing about 5 KR. The GTP is the car that sees no KR, hmmm, I wonder why.

Wow that sounds like a lot of KR.
That could have been what I felt that day of testing. It was after a few 0-60 burns, so things would have heated up a bit and I really don't remember ever seeing the boost gauge drop outside of the orange zone. :?
I don't have an auto tap scan tool.
I am looking forward to freeing up some of my exhaust restriction next, so that will hopefully reduce my KR and help with the power.

5KR is not a lot in some peoples perspective, and it is a lot in others. 1kr is a loss of ~2 horsepower, so that is a loss of ~10hp. 0KR is ideal, so the smallest pulley you can run with 0KR, along with the most amount of timing advance you can run with that pulley is going to give you the most power possible, whereas if you go to a smaller pulley and you get KR you will have less power than with the bigger pulley and advanced timing. Since most people don't have a way of adjusting timing, it is best to get the smallest pulley without KR. Since we are unable to adjust timing in the GTP we just run the smallest pulley we can without KR, so we run a 2.7 on 93 octane pump gas, and a 2.6 on 104 race gas. On pump gas we get a max of 3KR with the 2.6, so we actually make the same amount of power on the 2.7, and it is safer. We have been working very hard to get the KR issure resolved on the SSEi, and we still have some things that need to be done to do so. Right now, the car is running lean, and if we get a mini-afc for it we will be able to raise up the fuel and it will run richer, and then it will get less KR, how much less KR, who knows, but that alone will probably not solve it, although it could rid of 2 or 3 KR. (Yay 4-6 more horsepower!) Without a scan tool to check KR it is not a good idea to go to smaller than a 3.4 pulley, because you could have a weird car that gets lots of KR, and it wouldn't take long to blow it up.

IMHO I would definately free up the exhaust on your SSEi before doing modifications like rockers. Then if you do rockers in the future it will make a BIG difference. Obviously you were planning on doing the exhaust first, and this is a good decision. I think that the restrictive stock exhaust is the only reason rockers didn't fix our KR problem. If you do the right things to your exhaust, you may get 0KR with a 3.4 and the stock rockers. The exhaust that you are looking at getting in your sig is going to be a pretty good setup. The exhaust should flow pretty well that way, and you should lose 2-3psi boost, and probably all of your KR, if you are getting any. I would definately invest some money into some sort of diagnostic scan tool, because without it, you don't know what you need to do to make more power next. You will be happy you have it once you get it. We have used ours at least 10 times since we got it a few months ago. Not only have we used it on our cars numerous times, but we scanned for KR on another persons GTP for them as a favor, and we read and cleared an SES light for another GTP at the track.

My Jet was specifically programmed for the SSEi (SC). In this case, that would mean they specifically eliminated the overboost protection. I know for a fact this chip will NOT work in a non-sc car.

One of these days, I may take the chip out and see if I can overboost.

2.7 pulley on pump gas...
I know, tell me about it. That car is FAST AS HELL! The car is probably easily a 12.6 and with some good driving could be a 12.5 car, but when we ran the 12.8 it had no tuning and a 2.8" Pulley on stock timing. It is lots of fun to pass people on 2 lane roads, because when you are flying past them, they always look like "what the hell," and sometimes some people start going off the road because they are staring, it is great. This is why my dad complains that the SSEi is so slow, and why his '90 Turbo Grand Prix seems like a snail..

Hey Jeff...have you also done the "loosen the boost solenoid and push it down" mod??

I am curious if both mod'* will work together???
