Just don't do that going around a corner on slick roads.

Don't drop your shifter into 2nd at 70-80. I'm pretty sure the laughing was a hint of sarcasm in shawns post.

You can try it around 50mph for the same effect, and be much safer with far less chance of ruining your transmission.

80mph is about the max for holding 2nd during acccelleration with 2.97 gearing like yours. I've done 85 in 2nd, but it was wound out pretty tight. You have to ask yourself:

"Do I want my engine to nearly redline when I drop to 2nd gear at 80mph?" Because it'll try to.

I know he was kidding, I dont think i would ever drop it in to 2nd from anything highhr than 40 since im already on my second trans.

So i was driving down hill doing 40 and dropped it into 2nd and it stayed at -10. So does this mean everything ok?

Just as stated multiple times in this topic, your boost gauge is behaving just like all of ours, and exactly as it should.

Now you need to get accustomed to that 'normal' behaviour so you notice when things AREN'T right. That gauge can be clue to other issues at times.
