There is nothing wrong with it. Humidity, elevation, and the density of the air are all factors that can make it sit in different places.

It'* fine. A car'* IDLE needs vary depending on temps, plug conditions, and such. Say it gets any higher, then I'd worry a little about a problem.

Some run at -10, some a little above. Mine'* a little above, 8ish. Sometimes it goes to -10 at idle.

If it has changed, you can try spraying TB cleaner at/near vacuum lines and connections for the EGR. If the idle ever changes, it would show a vacuum leak. If the idle gets down below 1000 when warm, it wouldn't be a bad leak, but I'd look into fixing it anyway.

Run a test with the car on high idle vs warmed up. In drive vs park. You should see a difference in the boost gauge.

When you are at idle, your rpm'* are slightly higher than when you put it into drive. At idle your TB will meter in a certain amount of air even though your throttle plates are closed. You will lose a bit of vacuum due to the engine slowing slightly but with the same amount of air metered in since the throttle plate is still closed.
As you open the throttle plates during acceleration the vacuum level with drop.
Closing the throttle at higher engine speeds will produce the maximum amount of vacuum.

Yeah its not supposed to sit at -10 all the time.

Just to make sure its working properly drive down the road at oh about 70-80mph, and let off the gas and drop the shifter down into 2nd. I bet it says -10 then....
