I want to put a supercharged 3800 from an ssei into a se. They are the same year. If you can think of what kind of troubles I will have I would appreciate your expertise on the matter. I am mechanically inclined but I have never undertaken such a job before.

Hmmm, I did this last year and was pretty successful. Here'* the deal. Your going to need...
L67 Engine
4T60-E-HD or 4T65-E-HD Transmission and driveshafts
L67PCM/unless you know someone with a tuner.
And 93 octane fuel.
You could actually get by with the stock transmission, but whats the point of going through all that work if you can't romp on it once in awhile right? So yea, find a L67 donor car and get the above shopping list.

Well, now that I have more details from your other post, I can actually give you a definitive answer. Yes, you can swap everything over. Probably easier to just unbolt the entire frame assembly from the body and slide the body off.

It seems that my biggest problem will be the cluster for the dash and getting all the connections switched over. What were the biggest problems for you when you did it?
Oh, you want to swap clusters too? I have no idea if that will work. And I am only basing that off of the 92-99 series. The SE clusters only have one connector, while the SSE has SSEi'* have 2 connectors. But you don't really need to swap clusters. You can get by without a boost gauge, or you can buy an aftermarket gauge and install it.
So what does Michigan have for inspection laws? Do they hook your car up to a computer for testing? Does your PCM VIN need to match the VIN on your car? If so, your going to need to either have the current PCM programmed for the L67 or take the SSEi PCM and reprogram the VIN in it. Either way, something needs to be tuned.

oh so i dont have to switch the dash?...that'* awesome, and michigan doesnt have inspection laws like that. So are you telling me that I can just swap the tranny and engine and call it good or do i have to swap the computer too??
Here'* what you can do, just to be on the safe side...swap the engine, transmission, both driveshafts, engine harness, and PCM over. The SSEi harness does have an extra wire or 2 for the boost solenoid and probably MAP sensor. But, to be safe, change it over anyway. Now, when everything is running, and at your convenience, send your SE PCM to a tuner to have them make the changes for supercharged engine. Then, when you get that one back, you can swap PCMs and still retain your factory VIN/PCM. Just in case Michigan decides to do what NY does.
i think the sse is the only one with a different ratio. look in your trunk, i think on the bonnie its on the spare cover, well on mine not sire if they changed it
