What actually dies in the alternators?
:?: Does anyone have the link to the outfit that was selling the UBER-ALTERNATOR that was supposed to be able to take the heat, last forever and had 'the cure' built-in for what normally ails this GM H-Body stock alternator?
I don't know if I've got it in my computer, so if you have it, please post the link.
Thanks.

I think this is it...

$250.00! Good deal, or not?
200 AMPS! Too much for stock engine?
OR

Is this one enough? Same price but 160 AMPS...
Is it worth the extra money to NOT have to mess with it later?

You really want to buy from DP? Yeah, that'* what I thought.
No, it isn't too much for a stock engine. The price.. I don't know.. it'* $120 ish for a 105 or 140, so I think it may be a little over-priced, even though you will never receive it if you order it from DP.

That UBER alternator (I have one) is available at www.mralternator.com
I wouldn't suggest buying from DP until we find out what the hell happened to them, where they went, when they'll be back, and where our stuff is.
Mr Alternator is the supplier for DP on the Alternators, but DOES sell them at a slightly higher price.
They're worth the money, though. Beefed up rear bearing, beefed up internals.

I guess you can tell I haven't been around here for a while...
Thanks for the heads up. I've seen a few shady goings-on over on the firearms boards, too...
I'm thinking ahead for Tax Return investments, so I'll have to visit a little more often.
Still looking for those set of 3 White SSE emblems, too!

I never got back to you.....they won't part with badges any more. You have to buy the trunk and doors.
But I still have the GM part numbers if you need them. I will be going back to that wrecker soon for the fuel rail off one of the cars, and a couple other goodies, so I can press them again.
I know driverjohn may still need the fender off one of them.

The 140'* were used on a series of diffrent cars... I have seen these 140'* on caddiliacs, and some have made it past the 200,000 mile mark...

Also, turns out mine already has the 140. Kinda nice having an old fleet vehicle at times...
