Vats Help!! Need extra keys made

my 98 bonne se has a remote start that i installed . i soldered the resistor in the vats wires and car starts fine .now do i still have to have the microchip on the key that i have made{ $20} or can i just get a regular set of keys made ? any help would be great ! thanks tim

If you actually soldered a resistor in the vats line, no, you don't need one in the key. This wouldn't be the best way to remote start your car. Leaving it easier to steal. Unless you in an area where it isnt a problem.
