Tach wire signal on a 92
I've had a remote starter in my car that I installed 5 years ago. It uses the voltage signal to know when the car has started. My car doesn't start very well (almost 200k on it), and the remote starter usually has to try at least two attempts to get it started.
I'm thinking if I used the tach input instead, it would start better. Is there an easy place to pick up the tach signal inside the car? I'd really rather not have to tap into the coil under the hood and run a wire all the way in from there.
The wiring chart on bulldogsecurity.com says to pick up the tach signal at the white or purple/white wire at the ECM under the passenger side dash. Is this hard to get to? Can it be done by just removing the black plastic panel under the dash?
Thanks for any help.

Then I found a post on the12volt.com saying the PCM is in the "passenger kick panel, behind the dash". I thought the kick panel was below the dash? Like where you right foot might touch the inside wall of the car?

the PCM is up under the dash on the passenger side, remove the kick panel and crank your neck up in there to see the three connectors (red, white & blue) and the silver box.

Both are actually correct as Haro elaborated.
The only way to get to it is the plastic kick panel. It'* laying on the firewall.
If you try going at it from any other way, you'll have to remove the entire dash.
