Default Tach signal wire?

I have decided that I want to install a tach in my LeSabre (My cluster doesn't have one) I have looked around and from what I can tell the Tach wire is a white one coming out of the ignition module, can anyone verify this for me? I don't have a shop manual yet. I am also wondering if it is easier to splice into this wire under hood or in the dash, does this wire even enter the car if I don't have a factory tach? I am also thinking about an oil pressure gauge and a volt meter since I have only idiot lights, but that'* another story for another time. Any recommendations for tach'* is also appreciated. Thanks in advance.

here is all the signals from the icm. if you get a obd2 interface gauge you can see alot of things. i use torque pro app for android and a bluetooth adapter, it was about 30 bucks total and it shows me a ton more info than just a few gauges. if you are after something permantly mounted they make obd2 gauges that you can mount and program what you want it to display. oil pressure is funny though not sure on what vehicles had the pressure available in the pcm.(there is no sender at all on some) my 07 monte doesnt, and alot of early

Thanks that is what I was looking for, I didn't know about OBD2 gauges I will have to look into that it may be an easier/better answer than a single gauge.

I have one of these Autel OBD 2 display units that gets moved between vehicles.
It shows Tach Rpm & exact water temp/ rpm/ real alt voltage/ & so much more. It reads & Clears stored codes as well.
