Okay so I know that my sunroof needs to be put back on its tracks. What I would like to know is why it is off. I was having problems with it a few months ago, but it seemed to work fine agian after awhile. Then when I went to open it up all the way from the slanted position it grinds the gears and only lowers one side. Its like the one side isn't working. I am taking it to the shop to get it fixed because I don't have time to fix it myself (packing for college), but I would like to know a little bit about the problem too.

Likely you need to replace the tracks.

If I remember correctly the track and rear gear were sort of a one piece unit. Not sure either the gear or track can be replaced seperatly. I'm having a problem with the gear skipping on the track and it seems to be a sealed unit at the rear.

Yea I found out that that is what I need to replace. My sunroof doesn't even open now so I kinda want to find a replacement, which is gonna be hard...
