strange electronic climate control problem
I have a electronic climate control that has a mind of its own when i turn the heat on it will be set to 90 degrees but cold air comes out but if i drop the temp down to 60 and wait to hear a door shut or open then i bring the temp back to 90 and then it will crank out heat it does the same thing for the ac but its just the opposite.I have heard horror stories about the all electronic dash i'm just glad that the only part of my dash that is electronic is my climate control t

please somebody help me i have brought it to 2 different dealerships and no luck on gettting it fixed for a long time its like it got a mind of its own ok example start my car drive until the temp guage moves and then i press the front windshield defrost button and fan turns on but no heat so i lower the temp all the way to 60 degrees and back up to 90 then it will pump out hot air.Is there a way to convert to analog climate control with cables

This isn't my strong suit, but I may be able to lead you in the right direction. Even the manual controls use similar actuators, which sounds as if it may be your problem. Do a search in the 92-99 area of the forum for air mix actuator, and you should be able to find some threads that will help you out.

If you search in the 1992-99 discussion or electrical and use "air mix actuator" you'll get lots of reading help.
One suggests looking in through the glovebox and watching the link for the actuator move the airmix door as you move the temperature. He said you can see it fail to move properly as parts slip inside. He replaced it with a coathanger through the glovebox temporarily to control the door manually until repair time.

thank you guys the dealership should of replaced that actuator or recommend to change it myself but they thought is was a software problem cause they were trying to fix the problem via the computer and it worked for a little while .I think i will be trying the coat hanger before i change the actuator to make sure its broken thanks again
