Default Is Reprograming the OD in the DIC possible with new cluster?

I know that this was mentioned in a previous post but I could not find it.

I just got my hands on a new cluster from the wreckers and installed it today.
After installing the new cluster, I realized that the Odometer reading is different than what the car actually has on it.
Is there a way to reprogram the DIC so that it displays the correct OD reading ?

I also noticed that my old cluster has a Blue Delco Electronics sticker on it, does this mean that it has been refurbished before or is this from factory ?

Thanks in Advance,
Dutch

I thought that the mileage was saved in a BCM and not on the instrument cluster itself?

nope the milage is saved in the cluster....It might be possible to take apart the cluster and replace parts that are broken so you can keep your orignal cluster......BillBoost know all about the clusters and stuff.........

What was wrong with the previous or original coluster that you need to replace it?

Dutch.. there is not any accepted or typical ways to change the mileage on a cluster. One member did find a way to hook it up to something with a pulse to actually roll on miles til they got to where they wanted...but I don't remember who and I think it wasn't really easy.

Best thing to do is check with your state motor vehicle department and do a odometer swap or change disclosure. That way you are covered and if you sell the car you have proof of the actual mileage on the car.
