I have a 92 Bonny with a bad relay and want to know if anyone else has had this problem and was it costly?

Most relays in your car are about $3 at the dealer new. Answering the other Bill'* questions would help.

Moving the topic to electrical.......

Default relay

I don't know what it controls all I know is that it started clicking and my rpm needle began to skip and then my car slowed then cut off.The car still runs but I can't go far.

do you know where it'* located or can get a picture of it? Clicking wouldn't usually be a sign of a bad relay.

When powered and grounded they should click and stay open, w/o either of those..and it should close. But not clicking. It'* possible, however the issue may be somewhere else that is causing the relay to behave in that manner.

It appears to be coming from under the dash on the passenger side.

ok.. we'll need you to pull the black plastic hush panel and investigate further. Need to know which relay it is.. that way.. we'll know what it controls.
