Is it possible to wire an On/Off switch to the stock cooling fans on a 2000 bonneville SE? If so has anyone tried it? (am i posting in the right spot?) Thanks

I was hoping to get my car to run a little cooler when im in city traffic and parkinglot traffic on campus. it runs a little toasty. It would just be another little add-on to my car :P

It is possible but it requires like 3 relays and a few wires from the PCM, I can't find the wiring diagram anymore and I could never find the right wires

huh, darn... i will have to look into what i can figure out. im sure that i can find something to work. i also noted a zzp fan control earlier today, though it'* made for a grand prix. the basics should be the same though, am i right? oh, and crunk, how did you manage the ssei cluster in your se? did it require a new harness?

Or he could have his PCM reprogrammed to kick the fans on at a lower temp. That would be the easier route IMO.

There are two good methods.

Manual control (the relay schematics are online somewhere if you don't want to pay for a premade)

Programming the pcm. Easy quick and reasonably priced. When programming a 2000+ car not only can you bring the fan temp down near thermostat temperatures, but you can also tell it to stay on for up to 180 seconds after shut down to cool things further.

Well everyting was there for it to connect but I had to buy the new switches (where your English/Metric, Trip Reset, and Tire Presure Reset are now) the only hard part was for the new buttons there wasn't all the wiring so I had to solder to a flat wire (ribbon connector) to make them all work

ok, so i found the schematics, now im curious which pole i would need to ground, relay, or power to get the fan to come on.... does anyone know anything about this?
