Lightbulb Outside Temp Sensor

Hi everyone,

This is my first post so please bear with me. I bought my '98 SSEi about two months ago. Ever since i bought it the outside temp has read somewhere between 150-160 degrees F. I live in Michigan, so i know its definately not that hot outside I was wondering if maybe the sensor is bad or if my car is running too hot. The engine temp gauge reads about 200 degrees but feels very hot under the hood.

Any ideas would be a great help!!

Thanks

Temp sensor is shot. Its right in the middle in front of the radiator.

Thanks. I thought that might be the case. Where might I be able to obtain a new one? And can i change it myself? How much might the sensor cost?

Thanks again

You could get one at a wrecker, or off GMPartsDirect. I am not sure of the price, but I don't believe it is that much.
