Gotcha covered in that topic, I think.

A siezed alternator may have been the doom the HB needed. That's alot of load. And a cold brittle HB.......

So on the Alternator topic, what did you end up with?

Ya, I could hear the clicking.

Your Mom is a star............damn she's cute. 8) ;)

140amp alternator custom rebuild; still the 92-93 core. $130 (Under the table  )

We'll see how she does, but this guy comes VERY highly recommended. I'm expecting this alternator to last a while, esp. now that I have magnetic covers for the hood vents :D

That's a good price, John. The only disadvantage is they don't install needle bearings in the old 105 case. Your sealed thrust bearings are more exposed, but you have the covers now so that may not be an issue.

Yeah, I will only have the covers on when the car is parked. I don't want to see them flying off by trying to drive with them on. In addition, I'm going to look into a car cover too.

John, do a speed test on those magnetic covers. Seriously. CaddyMatt can pace you. I'd like to know how they hold.

And I'll tell Laura for you. ;)

I bet they hold like glue. I've seen lady bugs hold onto the hood above 70 mph.

these covers are about the thickness of 3 regular sheets of paper, i dunno....

The magnetic covers are a great idea.
A car cover should be a must but be ware they only last about 3 years before they degrade.

Tell Laura if you like......rats :!: :x
I was only complimenting your mom on her great smile. :D
