Keyless entry?

I was wondering why I can't pop my trunk because there are wires leading to my trunk latch. My son said there was probably a transmitter that used to be with the car that I have never had. How can I get one? Anyone have any ideas as where to go? I have a 1995 SI Pontiac Bonneville. Thanks.
