Transmitter & receiver are interchangeable '92 - '93
My '92 SSEI originally came with the following:
Transmitter: FCC ID: ABO0303T (Note there is a letter 'O' followed by a number "0")
Receiver, aka Remote Accesssory Control (RAC) Module: FCC ID: ABO0302R
Part No. 25602655
Just today, I replaced the RAC module with one bearing the following part No.: 25615095 (Sorry I don't have the FCC ID no. It'* already installed)
Note that this part number came up earlier in this thread as compatible with a '93 SSEI. Mine came from a junkyard out of either a Buick Regal/Park Ave or an Olds 88/98 of similar vintage.
I plugged it in, and it works fine. I ran the programing sequence and programmed my transmitter to the receiver, and now it all works like new!
I was a bit worried about the different part numbers between the two RACs, and even more worried when I opened the boxes and the innards looked VERY different! But apparently they work just the same.
I have seen remotes on Ebay consistently listed as compatible '92-95, so I would guess there'* no reason why the RAC'* aren't interchangeable as well.
p.*. NEVER pay the dealer $50 to program a remote. It takes 30 seconds, and the only tool required is an unbent paper clip for a jumper wire.
