Default Manual control of headlights at night

How would one acheive the ability to have manual control of the headlights at night while in gear. I am already DRL less, and I know how to turn off the headlights when im parked. The question is how do i turn them off while im driving. All that i want on is the marker lights , the angels are on their own circuit.

If you select parking lamps on the stalk, the headlights will turn off leaving you with parking lamps only. This only applies at night time after twilight sentinel turns headlights on.

It also only applies when you are in Park. As soon as you shift to Drive, your headlights come back on, regardless if you have parking lights selected on the lever.

Kaddykid, good question. Been wondering the same answer myself. Some people here at BC have done it, but you have to disable the light sensor on the dash. You will have to do a search here in the forums for that. Seems that there'* no real easy way to do it as of yet.

I don't know if this works out of P, the lights do come on when you shift out of P regardless BUT, you can twist the sentinal on than off, there will be NO lighting ( I don't know if this applies while in drive) I found this out one morning when I tried to turn the lights off. You are able to drive at dusk/night with just the corner lights on.

Being DRLless I figured you'd be able to do this anytime? isn't that the whole point?

Interesting. Mine, like Mark'* shuts off the headlight and leaves just the parking lights on when I turn the switch to the parking lights. That'* in forward or reverse. I use it often when switching cars around from the driveway.

Would splicing into the dash sensor and adding a switch work. is that the only thing that controls the lights.

This is the electrical diagram for the headlights.

i have full control over my headlights, to disable DRL and have full control over the headlights, i pulled out the resister on the engine compartment right near the horn, its a ceramic piece with black wires coming from it, just pull it out....on the dash, there is a sensor right above the tach on top of the dash, i pulled that out and just put in a small piece of wire to complete the circuit, now i can turn off the lights while driving completely and run with only marker lights on as well...
