Has anyone else had problems with their MSD DIS 4 ignition systems? The other day I was idling at a light when the car stalled. When I tried to restart it, the engine sounded like it was cranking over really fast and it...well it sounded like an engine with a wet distributor. I popped in the bypass plug and away I went. This is my second MSD to screw up. The first one lasted about three days, and this one about six months. I cant even find the receipt so I can exchange it.

I heard MSD moved their manufacturing plant to Mexico....and let'* just say it wasn't a good idea.

For something that is solid state, you would think that it wouldn't crater so easily.

When did you order this one? MSD had a bad run of coils about 6 months ago, too. A couple of our members fell victim to this. I got lucky, I guess.

I bought this one, and had it installed last July. $500 for seven months isn't too bad, huh.

ouch. Do they have a support line that you can call or something?

I found the receipt and returned the MSD today. The dealer said he expects a new one from MSD in about 2-3 weeks. Apparently they have to test the unit to see if it is faulty. Lets see...
1. The car runs
2. The car stops
3. Bypass the MSD
4. The car runs again
