I used to own a 92 SSEi as well and had the same issue. It ended up being the incorrect bulb.
The correct bulb numbers can be found in TechInfo.

I have the same issue. It all started with the socket, found the metal strap rusted and broke inside.
So I bought a new one but the monitor keeps saying it'* bad (intermittent). Now I see I have the wrong buld in it.
