I have an intermittent security light, it seems to be weather related, aka I spray the heck out of the engine bay and car and the light will stay on, after it dries off the light will go out, this has happened twice now. That is, the solid check engine light stays on right after both times I have sprayed out the engine bay.

Also more importantly, at random the light will come on while driving, very random so I cant really reproduce it and bring to the dealer to have them TECH-II the Security Subsystem.

Lets keep in mind I also plan on disconnecting the trunk security electrical connector near the lock tumbler, but have not done this yet, I'm just looking for something else that is the source...near the engine bay.

What are the components of the security system on this car other than what is inside the cabin?

Check the hood switch

my first thought as well, the hood light does not come on, perhaps I should replace with the spare I have from the 93.

Any other ideas?
