Default Interior lights stuck on, antenna travel question

I finally got my bonneville <1996 SSEi> home after fixing the transmission lines and was figuring out why the interior lights didn't turn on- found that fuse 6A was pulled. Replaced with 15a spare- lights came on... and didn't go off. I also noticed that now my power mirrors and pneumatic seats now work. Pull the fuse, lights out, mirror and pneuymatic seats are no longer functional. What would cause the lights to stay on? there is no false door ajar messages, the lighting switch wasnt on "interior lights on" mode.

also, the power antenna'* travel is much MUCH less than normal- it goes up about 1 foot, and when it goes down, about 2 inches stick out. Is it time for a new antenna?

For the antenna: try lubricating it with penetrating oil and helping it go up and down a few times. They don't work as well in the cold weather; i have mine unplugged for winter to keep it from struggling.

Thanks John Deere Boy, I will definately try that on the antenna.

Any idea as to the interior light issue?

I have the same problems with my interior lights, and have resorted to the same "fix" of pulling the fuse.

On the power antenna, most likely the antenna has seen better days. To fix it, I'd replace once the weather warms up. JDB has a very valid point about the cold. If the antenna doesn't function well warm, then replace.

On the interior lights. The FSM has a diagnostic mod that it mentions. However it requires taking apart the two front doors as part of the diagnostic to rule out the MALL and RFA modules.

MALL is body function controls (lights locks etc)
RFA is remote function actuator and feeds some things to the MALL.

W/o taking the doors apart..I'd suspect the MALL.

Both parts could be found in many junkyards for low dollars.

I'm not trying to sound stupid but where are said MALL and RFA located?

You mentioned taking apart the doors, are they in the doors?

bill, thanks for the great information.

Jack brings up a good question, where are they located?

If it helps any, all of the functions of the keyless work, as do the power locks, chimes, etc. The retained accessory works as well.

The lights dont have any form of a relay, do they?

I found this thread to be helpfull,
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...highlight=mall

I used the info in it just 10 minutes ago to run a test, I'll be starting my own thread since we might have different issues in the end, but I think this will help you.

I did the Mall Diagnostic as outlined in the linked thread.

I got the following 'bongs'
one bong pause two bongs pause three bongs puase four bongs

and when doing the controller I/O Test,

I turned the dimmer **** to interior lights on and the interior lights went off. I then turned the switch off and they stayed off. turned it on and they went back on, turned it off and they stayed on. Turned it on and they went off again, turned it off and they stayed off.(got one 'bong' each for on/off.)

The interior lights stayed off until i turned the ignition off. They then turned back on.

I'm guessing my MALL module is screwed up, any other ideas?
