Thanks for posting the pictures. It has been a rough Winter in the NE and we just got enough warmth to get outside and start righting the wrongs.

I already knew I had water issues. The rear drain tubes for the sunroof have been on my list to fix for a while. However, I just checked both bus connectors and they are fine. No problems. I have noticed that under strong throttle bursts the dash stays lit, but as soon as the throttle is let off, the dash blacks out. This is evident even while parked. That leads me to believe there is a ground issue in the engine compartment and that engine movement effects the connection.

Keep in mind there are actually two electrical issues here. The dash reboots under throttle changes; and the fuel guage reads wrong, though I replaced the fuel pump last year and water temp guages reads cold when the fuel is high and very high when the fuel reads low.
Thanks for the help. I'm going to consult the shop books.

I realize this is a very old thread, but I felt obliged to provide both an end and a valid solution for anyone else with this issue.

The solution turns out to be very simple, step down transformers. The digital gauges and the analog ones each have dedicated step down transformers. All of the transformers on my instrument panel were bad. A local mechanic recognized it easily and repaired it flawlessly. I don't recall the cost, there was other work being done, but if you take out the IP yourself, the transformers were supposedly available at the local Radio Shack.
