Default I need answer

I need to know if anyone who has a "98 Se, has had a proble with the left side head light assy, not saying tightened. I've had to take it to the dealers 3 times, but eventhough they tighten it, It will come loose again. And how do you tighten these?

You will need a 10 mm wrench or 10mm socket and ratchet.
With the hood open, on the grille side of the headlamp capsule you will see two bolts that are screwed in towards the engine -they secure the drivers headlamp in place.
I don't have a picture or diagram available, but hopefully someone can hook you up with one of the two shortly here.

I think I have the same problem as you, my drivers side headlight shakes all the time, I have a 97 SSE though. Maybe I should try tightening it.

I should add, it could also be how well the capsule is secured to the bracket, or if the headlamp was properly installed from the side so the pins go into the holes. If it was not installed properly from the side there will be a gap between the fender and the rubber seal that goes around the cornering lense.

Default head light

thanks you guys.
OlBlue, Ive never had to replace the bulb at all. For some reason it just comes loose, and wont stay thightened. It never comes all the way loose, just loose enough you see it viberating while driving, and u can bobble it very easily with one finger.

Sorry but I tried to tell everyone what the problem was. The left side outside lens wont stay tightned. It keeps coming loose. Like I said its been to the dealer 3 times and they tighten it, but it wont stay that way.
I was seeing if others had this problem and how it was tightened, so I could do it. That all. Sorry if i confused people not my intention.
And like I said It has never been off the car in the 5 yrs Ive had it. No bulb replacement
either.

When you notice the light loose, does the entire light seem loose including the bracket or does it appear to be part of the plastic that holds the adjusters?

I've seen loose bolts, broken adjusters, broken/worn plastic pieces that hold the adjusters... there are a few things there that can be loose. Please give it a look over and let us know what parts are causing the looseness.

Ok will do. But I'll have to take the "air box"?( holding the air filter ) loose because it sits directly on top of it. I'll let you know.
