Default headlights flicker...not same discussion

Hi

'94 Bonneville SE, auto light sentinel switch optoin

My headlights all of the sudden started flickering when I was driving home one night on the highway, and I believe only the headlight low beam does it (forgot to check if highbeam would flicker).

I know there was a discussion previous to this, but that fellow'* dash lights or something went, whereas only my low beam headlights flicker, like wigwags for cop cars, but the marker, back, dash and everything else is fine. It is sorta neat driving down the highway and watching people pull over, but I dont' want a ticket if you know what I mean.

I unplugged one headlight and the other one stays on no problem, so not sure if it is a switch issue or is there some sort of controller for the headlights. Does it during the daytime when they are just on also, and only starts happening after about a 1/2hour of driving, so I would think it is heat related.

I can pull the light switch on and off, go all the way to dim the dash or full on but nothing seems to do anything to stop or change the low beams from flickering.

One would think it could be the headlight switch, but I dont' want to pay for a switch and find it is some stupid module in the engine compartment.

Any ideas?

There is no module. All the function is built into the switch, with input from the flat photocell to the left side of the HUD.

If the photocell goes out, it affects both lights.

I strongly suspect your switch.

Thanks.

As you know from my triade with the $500 ignition coil, I"m a bit gun shy on going by what the mechanic/dealership wants.

Will pick up a light switch and let you know. Just weird how it only affects the headlights and not the parking/tail/marker lights.

That'* why I suspected a daytime module or something.

cheers

Wait, you're

We need to refer to a factory service manual. US cars are not equipped with DRL option in 94.

I wonder where we can find a manual for the 94 or 95 year with the DRL Canadian function???

(Looks toward the west coast)

An SE will not have the LCM. Only SSE/SSEi got that. SE/SLE do not.

And the 97 is likely to be far too different. Someone MUST have a set of 94 FSM'*?

OK....just tryin' to help since I saw no replies for awhile. Seems like there must be a poor/loose connection somewhere in the switch or the wiring to the headlights.
