Yep, I just learned about all of this myself. I ordered a new switch and as I removed the old one I could feel how hot it was. It melted the connector a little, not to bad. After replacing it I also found what you guy's said about the twilight ring not fitting the new switch. I'll have it on Monday. I'll post a picture when I get home later

Did you replace the connector or was it not bad enough to need a new one? So far..everyone I've seen is cooked.

No, it looks melted but it's still working fine. All the connectors on the plug appear to be good and still in the right spots, just the plastic is melted. The only thing I seen that was burnt on the connectors was on the switch it's self. I don't see any black or burnt connectors in the plug, just the melted plastic around them. As bad as it looks their still in the right spots and It plugs in and out good with a tight connection. It's not getting hot anymore and everything works great now.

The issue I was having with mine started with the twilight adjustment knob, when I would adjust it it would cause the lights to flicker if they were on. It has been doing that for a while now. It had just started a new problem, It would intermittently chime like the lights were left on with the door open. I decided to replace it after finding the Techinfo on it here.
Here is my pictures.
