Default Electronic quagmire.

Hi all, I own a 2000 bonneville SE and have been having a series of electrical issues. It started when the doors would not respond to the remote keyless transmitters (the lights do not flash either), I\ve checked the batteries and have re-synchronised the transmitters, that didn't work. Then the air bag warning light started chiming intermitently while the car was in motion, then the security warning light started doing the same thing. Then as if that was not enough, the CD stops playing and the radio volume goes down suddenly. All of these things have happened in the same 10-20 minute drive. The dealer says it could be the BCM. If anyone else has had these problems please let me know before I go and spend $375 on parts and labor.
Thanks
PS these forums are really helpful!

Default Solution

It was the rear Body Control Module

Wow, that was some quagmire. It was easily resolved though with replacement of that module, glad to hear it. The Body Control System consists of three modules, the dash integration module (DIM), the instrument panel module (IPM), and the rear integration module (RIM). It sounds as if they replaced the RIM.
