Default Electronic Climate Control won't heat

Hi,

I am hoping someone else may have had the same problem and could offer some helpful advice.

My '97 SSEi with Electronic Climate Control will not make warm air. The duct and fan controls work OK and the AC works, but no heat no matter what the temperature setting. Coolant level is up, both hoses to the heater core are warm, but no heat.

I figured maybe the little motor that moves the flap on the heater duct quit working, so, after a couple of days removing fasteners and components from the dash, I now have the little motor out of the car.

Is there a simple test to determine whether the motor or the programmer may be at fault?

I figured to just get another motor at a salvage yard. Are there any tricks that would help in this work? This has been a lot of work for a little component.

Thanks for any help,

Bill B

Was the temperature display blinking on your control head?
