Ok I had to order the headlight switch over the internet at rock auto. I put it in on Saturday. I still have the same problems. no dash lights, no tail lights, no fog lights and it chimes when I open the door like I left the lights on. This started happening right after I got an alignment. Still open for any guesses.
Thanks,
Ron

i agree with bill...i think it is the ignition switch doing it...i am thinking maybe if you put some household oil on the key? Maybe it would lubricate the switch so it would stop that? But I'm not too sure about oil in the ignition cylinder...but thats what my thought would be.

Bill'* first thought was wrong. Based on the dinging.. it could be the ignition. However when you add the lighting issues...it'* light circuit as that dings when you leave them on.
It sounds like the switch or a module is bad. I don't know if 93 has any lighting modules that work with the switch. If so, that would also be a possible.
Please....never put WD 40 into an ignition switch. Powdered graphite is the proper lubricant, however with our pellets.. you don't really want that in there.

OK. Not sure if this applies to a '93, but the FSM for a '97 says to look for a "short to battery" along circuit 1785, which is a lt. blue wire that runs from the headlight switch to the Body Control Module, then continues as a lt. blue wire out of the BCM in a harness to battery power.
Description of symptoms is: Lights Warning Chime is audible with lights in "OFF" postiion, key out of ignition, and driver'* door open."
Maybe check the connections on the wiring harness at the headlight switch for a bent pin or disconnected/pinched/broken lt. blue wire in the harness that connects to the headlight switch.
