Default ELC relay? FIXED!!!

My FSM says it is under the right hand underhood fuse block. Then the picture has seven relay positions labeled, and the eighth is blank. 4th from the left?

I've got nothing there, not even an empty connector for one.

Check the relay center under passanger side of the dash. Look for relay "E".

Hotz28, that'* incorrect. The relay is in the maxifuse relay center under the hood. Not in that diagram you posted. I know this from not only my 93, but also from Driverjohn'* 92, which I replace the relay on last winter.

Sorry, I was simply suggesting, that if it was not in the relay center under the hood, then you should “Check the relay center under the passenger side dash”!

Well, the relay diagram isn't right. But mine is in the relay center he is thinking of. MY FSM calls relay 3 above the passenger'* foot as ELC for Buick and Olds and Fog lights for Pontiac. So I dug into that one. I've got voltage at pin 1 to ground, but not pin 5 to ground. Pin 1 and 5 both go to fuse 12 above the driver'* foot and split somewhere between that fuse panel and the relay center. I've got continuity from the fuse to pin 1, and not from the fuse to 5. So I guess I need to find the break in the wire somewhere under the dash.

So I know this relay 3 that is supposed to be for the fog lights is wired to the ELC fuse. Does that make my car a LeSabre SSE or a 88 SSE?
