Have you checked for power at the lighter socket with ign. in the "on" position? Maybe it'* the lighter element itself that has failed. Have you tried a known good element in the socket that is in question?

yea i have and there is no power getting to it what so ever. my brother is coming in town and he is an electrical speciallist for cars so he'll look at it
