Both fans or just one? Both would probably mean the high speed fan relay is being commanded on or the command wire is shorted to ground.

Verify your temp gauge is NOT reading 226 degrees.

The high speed relay is energized by the PCM if the A/C refrigerant pressure fan switch opens, indicating refrigerant pressure above 210psi, or engine temperature reaches 226.
Disconnect the electrical connector that is on the A/C line down at the A/C compressor. Jump both pins with a jumper. Turn power on, do fans come on?

Best way to do that is through a scan gauge. The coolant sensor is a dual sensor built together. One part feeds the dash gauge and the other feeds the pcm. Therefore the pcm might not see the same reading as the dash gauge if part of the sensor went bad.

On the S2 motor it'* the sensor directly under the thermostat housing on the LIM. Follow the one set of wiring that heads down on that side and you'll spot it.

What'* your other car? It'* a ~$20 sensor.
