Hi,
I'm a newbie here. Just bought a 97 Bonneville SE and realized ALL the lights flicker (constant dim bright) Can anyone who had this problem help me out before I spend a small fortune to get it checked? Also...."check gauges" light always chiming and lighting, but nothing wrong with gauges.

sounds like an alternator problem.. test the charging system

Also check your belt. make sure it'* not slipping.

As it turns out...was the belt slipping. Never thought of this because the belt was new,but unfortunatly, it backed off somehow. Tightened it up, so far so good

Glad to here it was a easy fix.
