98 bonne ignition switch replacement
I need info on how to change ignition switch. cant seem to figure out how to get into steering column. car will lose power in run position and will not start. can jiggle key and sometimes get power but loses it as soon as you try to start. need help in a desperate way.

You need to first deactivate the air bags. Disconnect the battery cables. Wait about 10 mins. (I waited longer,overnight as I'm paranoid LOL!) Then there are 2 torques screws to remove then air bag will come off. Unplug it.
Steering wheel puller is next remove the steering wheel. Then insert key & if I remember right turn it toward the run position. I believe there is a release. Someone may have more info on that. Pretty much opposite to reinstall ,be careful not to catch the air bag wiring as it could set off air bag when reconnected the battery & turning key. I was advised to sit in passenger seat when reengrigizing the air bags so you don't get hit with it if you've done something wrong. I'm sure 1 of the other guys will add what I've forgotten or have wrong
