i hope I put this in the correct area. I once heard a audio installer ? saythat he could bypass the ignition security. this was do to problems with not starting at times. I own a 2000 bonnieville ssei as well as a 2004 impala ss, and to better understand some things that I don't, iwould like any info I can get on the subject if anyone has any . thanks.

It is easy to do with the 92-99 Bonneville'*, but because you have the transponder key, its more difficult which requires programming.

There is a lot of good information contained inside your owners manual about the sophisticated security system, or Pass Key III (PK3)
If you do not have an owners manual, one can generally be found online in a free pdf download.
When it did not start, was the security light on?

Can you tell us more about what problems you are experiencing with your Impala, if it was not starting, was the security light on, do you have a PK3 key? It should be stamped on the key if it'* original ?

I had the same problem on 03 impala, had intermittent no start as well, it was the bcm, no issues since replacement. the wire bypass issue your referring to is a diode that installers use to bypass ignition pass key for remote starting, had to do this on my 03 for the remote start. so it may work on your 04.
