I have a 1995 SLE
I have replaced my twilight sentinel switch with a 96-up one.
Tonight as I got out of the car the lights were on as usual and supposed to go off after time. Over 2 minutes later I go outside again, lights still on. I manually shut them off, tried the system again and it worked fine. I've seen this once before, has anyone heard of this before and well...I'm at a loss so you tell me.

No, but you know what I do notice, the control doesn't seem to be perfect, like it'll vary like mad. a little up it shuts right off, I guess maybe when i turned it that position for some reason turned it way up? And holy crap 10 Minutes? LOL...that'* insane, maybe I should have sat around and laughed as my battery was being killed
But seriously now...has it ever been heard of that they stay on out of nowhere and don't shut off?

I think the maximum time delay is 3 minutes (headlights auto off) on twilight sentinel. Turn the twilight sentinel ring fully counter closkwise to reset (ign must be on) then clockwise a quarter turn. Check the time delay after doing that to see if it had any affect.

Thank you, I'll give it a try tomorrow. Of course only time will tell as this issue only crops up once in a blue moon. My main idea amongst your good advice, was to see if anyone else has had this issue.
I don't think we've seen that issue before.
Melted 95 switches
Bad MALL modules (possible in this case)
Not staying on forever. Usually if you wait it out, they go off. I have seen the situation that you mention about a small amount of twilight lasts 5 seconds and then the slightest addition moves you to a full minute.
(That'* what I consider "normal operation")

Mine was acting same way with old 1995 melted switch and still acting the way you described from time to time with 1996 switch.I just won't leave the car until it shuts the light (few seconds in minimum position). If I see it stays longer I shut it off manually as I know it will stay on.I have no idea why is that and think it'* not worth the time spent to find out what'* wrong. There are so many things that go wrong with these cars.
Recently my security light stay on all the time when driving. Security works perfectly by the book, only light never goes off while engine is running.Disconnecting trunk sensor didn't help,so I just will drive as it is since driveability isn't affected.
On the last note these cars sure help auto mechanics to feed their families. LOL
I like it anyway.
Regards
