I love my bonneville I hate my factory am/fm cassette. I bought a am/fm cd/cassette unit from a salvage it is locked dealer says $88.00 to "re-program" and get code. Can I do this my self? If so how? The unit I bought is from 01 bonneville

In this model year, there is no "code" as such. Any Bonneville 2000+ needs to be programmed with a tool called a "Tech 2". This is a computer that connects to the diagnostic link connector (DLC) which is down in front of the park brake pedal. In most cases, the only shops that will have this capability is a GM dealer. You will need to contact a service department and ask. Pricing does vary greatly from one dealer to another for this service.
