I bought a stock radio/cd player for my 99 bonneville SSEI, bought from a member on here who says the radio was fine when shiped, which, I believe him, but I plugged it into my car, everything works BUT the display, Cd works tuner works, everything!, but no display, the bulbs filament was broken or poped when I got the radio, and I replaced bulb, but there isnt even power comming to the light,
I went to USPS to file a insurance claim as the box looked like it was droped, {hence way light was probably broke} well, my post office managers 2 sons run the big auto salvage yard that I get my parts from, well, I told her what was happening and she kindof fussed with me on making the claim, becuase she didnt think anything should be damaged, I make the claim anyhow, but later, she called me on my phone and she must have called her sons or something,

becuase she rattled on about how it must not have worked becuase it might be locked, an I would have to get it reprogramed for my 99 SSEI!!, if that was true, wouldnt everything not work? not just the display????, I just want to know what to tell her tomarrow when I go up there to talk with her on the claim!,,

the USPS lady was telling you about the lock feature on your radio? If everything but the display works, its not the lock feature.

The displays in those radios are VERY finicky and temperamental. I bet it starts working on its own one of these days.

Don't back down on the claim, but its probably not from being handled...

is the theftlock light on the radio illuminated?, and or does the LOC appear on the display.

if not the radio is not locked
