Default Window tint

So i went to go get my car tinted on the rear windows and it wasn't a bad price $75 lifetime warranty against bubbles, peeling, spliting, and fading. Yet i was told not to ever use windex on it cause it would turn the tint purple!
has anyone heard of this? i didn't get them tinted cause of that i like windex it doesn't streak and actually cleans the window.
any thoughts or opinions?

Hmm, if the tint has some red dye in it, and the windex has some blue dye, it would make sense that it would start to turn a bit purple. But I've not heard of that happening.

don't know what dye but it was 35% blackish gray tint dosen't seem like there would have been red in there but who knows most all glass cleaners are blue though

its because windex has amonia in it, there are glass cleaners made for tinted glass, I use Purple Passion and it does a good job and doesn't have amonia

I had to use straight amonia to actually take the tint on some glass one time

The windex didn't really have an effect on the tint (dark colored plastic itself) but it messes with the glue applied to the window to hold the film on, so if it got in between the film and the glass where the glue is it will start to peel and it turns into a big mess
