Default Removing old window tint off back window

Okay, so the window tint on my car is pretty much done as far as life expectancy goes for it. I got all the other windows off without much of a problem, but the rear window is not coming off willingly. The tint film itself has seperated into 2 peices and I am dealing with the purple part of the old tint (final layer). I can't get the stuff to come off in strips any longer than an inch and that is if I am lucky. I have tried about $100 worth of window tint remover products along with what the pro-tint shops told me to do and it is still not working... I really don't have time to be back there with a little razor for hours and I don't want to risk scratching the defroster and the glass...Any ideas? I have been working on this for over a month trying to get it done so I can see out my rear window...

Well I dont tint windows or anything like that BUT I talked to a professional window tinter the other day about this.
He said what they do to remove the rear tint with out damaging the defrost strips are a few steps.
I am gonna try to describe them the best I can.
1. Get a black trash bag and cut it so its just like one huge black sheet of plastic.
2.Get a spray bottle of soapy water and soak down the whole window.
3. Get the cut up black trash bag and try to attach it over the back window. (not really sure how) Maybe tuck the edges of the plastic into the sides of the panels?
4. Park the car where the sun is shining down on the back window for a while.
5. He said you can periodically check on them window and see if the water is evaporated. If it is evaporating he said just spray some more water on back window.
6. After about 1-2 hours of sitting in the sun it should be able to just peel off the window.

I hope this helps. He said that is what they do to all cars that need to have window tint stripped.

I guess what happens is the water/sun/plastic kind of creates steam to help remove the tint without damaging the defrosters.

Like I said I have never done this but he said they do this all the time.

Good luck!

That'* the ghetto "pro" way to remove tint. A true pro will use a steamer on the stuff and go very slow.

My buddy had his Acura re-tinted and the guy worked on his car all day with the steamer to remove the tint.

The most important thing to tear off though a slice of shades and there to sprinkle
This piece transforms glue of shades into snivels, then we remove it a rag
